Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration (SMTA)

SMTA, under the Shanghai Municipal Government, is a regulating arm in charge of drafting the master plans and strategies for developing the city's travel and tourism industry, implementing the trade policies and regulations, and coordinating the operations of related organisations and businesses in the industry. It is also responsible for promoting the travel industry and travel products in both domestic and overseas markets.

Under the SMTA is a specific department - International Tourism Promotion Department is responsible for promoting Shanghai as an ideal MICE destination as well as the city's MICE industry. Its major responsibility is to market Shanghai in international meeting and event industry, organise or coordinate the organisation of meetings in Shanghai and provide training to the people in the MICE industry.

 

 
 
Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Industries Association (SCEIA)
SCEIA is a non-profit social organisation facing the whole industries with the qualification of legal person, consisting of corporations undertaking convention, exhibition and business concerned in Shanghai. The first meeting of members was held in April 2002. The business fields of the members basically cover all the aspects of convention and exhibition industries as well as other aspects concerned.
 

 
 
American Society of Association Executives (ASAE)

Our organizational members are trade associations and individual membership societies that represent almost every sector of the economy and countless professions. Our 39,000 individual members—association professionals and industry partners—lead, manage, and work in or partner with organizations in more than a dozen association management disciplines, from executive management to finance to technology. China Business Events Federation (CBEF)

The "China Business Event Federation" is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization that is the cooperation platform between business event organizations and relevant well-known professionals nationwide. Members are from national convention or MICE associations, the influential business event enterprises, think tanks and research institutes and institutions, such as colleges and universities and head of the international and domestic social organizations and former officials from government and association on MICE industry of all countries, head of the business event enterprise and famous scholars as the advisor for the advisory board. The head quarter of the CBEF and secretariat are located in Beijing, China, with Chinese and English as the working languages.

 

 
 
International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO)
Established in 1968, IAPCO has over 90 members across 30 countries, and is the only international organisation devoted specifically to professional congress organisers (PCOs). Acknowledged as a world leader in congress training and education, IAPCO runs a series of national, regional and international seminars and workshops, including the acclaimed Annual "Wolfsberg" Seminar now in its 31st year. It publishes a series of industry guidelines including First Steps, How To Choose the Right PCO, Industry Prospectus, Bidding for a Congress, Safety and Security, etc, all of which, together with IAPCO's newsletter "The PCO", are available to non-members on request.
 

 
 
International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA)
The global community and knowledge hub for the international association meetings industry. ICCA - the International Congress and Convention Association - represents the world's leading suppliers in handling, transporting and accommodating international meetings and events, and comprises over 1,000 member companies and organisations in almost 100 countries worldwide. Since its establishment over 50 years ago, ICCA specialises in the international association meetings sector, offering unrivalled data, communication channels, and business development opportunities.

Korea MICE Association
Korea MICE Association, established as an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in 2003 under the Tourism Promotion Act, is a government-run organization representing domestic MICE (meeting, incentive, conventions and exhibitions) industry shareholders including private companies, public agencies and academic bodies.
 

 
 
Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE)

The Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) www.pcaae.org is the only membership organization in the Philippines that serves the community of institutions and professionals that manage business, trade, philanthropic, scientific, medical, educational, technical, social welfare, agricultural and other non-profit organizations.

It was launched on November 20, 2013 during the 1st Association Executives Summit jointly organised by the Philippine Tourism Promotions Board, the Philippine International Convention Center and the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP). With the Washington, D.C.-based American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), these five institutions are PCAAE's "founding pillars". PCAAE aims to further professionalise the association governance and management in the country.
